Munchkin Turns Two

So my sweet pea turned two today.
Two years since my lotus baby swam into this world and made our lives wonderfully crazy.
The ever changing groundhog day that to people who dont have kids it just cant be explained.
You hear people say its soo hard but so rewarding, I now understand it to be rewarding for sure but the hard part is strange, sure its hard work but I feel the hard feeling comes from the fact that when you have a child you have no choice!  Its hard because they are here and you cant give up, it dosent matter if you wanna run and not do it, you are here and you are doing it.

Such a wonderful commitment to make, to sign the contract of life and agree to bring someone up the best you can and teach them all they will need to make their own life amazing.
We are only having one child, Indi is it, so we will be doing our best to help her be a person who is going to live a life aware of her world and hopefully start the generation of change, to put right all that we have done wrong.
No Pressure My Love!! hehe
just fix the world aye!

So I made my little fairy a Tinkerbell cake.
She looooves Tink!
Our town is so small that I could only find Fawn and Silvermist to go with her, much stress for me but no problem for her!  Us mums and our inner pressures to be perfect! sheesh!
A lovely green meadow and vines, and 10 candles, who made the rules of only two??

Beautiful ribbons and plastic flowers.
I was going to make the flowers but realised she was 2 and would not care in the least!!

Two Woo Hoo!!

"Hey little guy..you wanna flap flap today??"
The funniest part of the movie!!!
For her 1st B Day cake I made a nest with 3 baby blue birds (very ugly birds too haha)
and now we have this blue bird..
so that is how traditions start.. from now on she will always have a blue bird somewhere on her cake
coincidence x 2 = tradition

Pretty Bows xxx

Present time was as frantic as any childs party, presents opened and strewn to the side without so much as a thankyou, or even a glance at the actual gift
NEXT!!!!!
how embarrassing for us parents!!...she loves it really!!
But this gift is going to go so well in mummys lady cave so I can have my sewing table/indis drawing table back.
Let the masterpieces begin!

And superhero birthday girls always have time for a little swinging...

whats for our bbq dinner???
potatoes with cheese mmmmm
do you want one or two??....

lovely salads with cheese
yum yum we love cheese!
would you like some salad on the side too??...
eat up, the exciting parts coming!!

Its cake time and the first sighting of a wonderful ball of fire coming her way!!
Ohh My!

Yay!! its Tink!!

Blow out your candles my sweetie, make your wishes xxx

And what better thing to do than to give you 2 year old the sharpest knife in the house and let her hack her cake to shreds!! she had a whale of a time!!

We ended the afternoon with drawing and hang man for the adults, a truly frustrating game!! haha
Wow look at the sun she drew!! ohh my your advanced!! haha just kidding

What a fun birthday with no childrens party in sight! thats for next year...
Thanks for coming to the party, hope you enjoyed the dinner, I left the meat out for you vegetarians!!
all the birthdays done for the year Yay!!
So seeing as munchy has been monopolising my blog of late she will be taking some time out so mummy can blog about art and deep thinking.
Some of you will miss her for sure, but she will be back with adventures galore!!

Everyone take care of your little people, whether they are human of fur babies or feathered friends.
So much joy in such little packages, growing bigger every day.

Hunting Sparkley Things

Easter Sunday ohh the wonderful times to be had.
I saw a peacock running by and reached out to grab it, he got away but left me with a special gift of some of his most lovely feathers.....
How can such amazingly coloured things just pop out of a fluffy little bird who started as a hairless chick and also a speck in an egg....  hmm eggs, that seems to be ringing a bell for me for some reason???
ringing bells??? do I hear bells???

As I sat thinking of eggs and hearing bells, a little elf ran past with bells ringing on his shoes, I took a swipe at him but he slipped thru my fingers and ran along giggling and pointing at me, ha ha ha ha ha!  but the joke was on him for I had managed to snaffel his lovely red bells  hehe...

I took my lovely treats from my morning romp and sewed them to a basket for my munchkin.... she was in for a treat today Im sure, if only I could remember what we were doing ????

"Its an easter egg hunt Mum! comon"
Ahh yes the hunt, no wonder there were so many rascalls in the garden today!
lets go!

It dosent take long for my little magpie child to spot the sparkley treats hiding among the trees..eeewww let the fun begin..

"is there an egg under every tree Mummy??"
Maybe!!!

Look at my swag already...

such delicate collecting from such an excited little lady...
you better hurry up if you wanna beat the ants!!!

and whats this?? hello little chicky..are you waiting for me too...

Ohhh YAY!!!  a golden egg!!!!
Look at the pure joy on that face xxx melts my heart xxx

Im sure Miss Piggy has enough eggs already and we can surely give one to our wonderful bloggy friends, so here we are friends! You can have this beautiful bunny because you helped us on our hunt!!
Ohh stop it! think nothing of it! we have plenty to share, Munchys teeth will fall out if she eats all this chocowee...
whats that??? its been taken already???...

SORRWWEEEE!!!
I only ate its ears, gobble gobble chomp chomp...
here you can have it back....
Awww munchy!!! you are such a piggy pants!!

look at all the other treats you got, you even got a pocelain egg cup, thats a tradition in our family!

Every Easter, but not knowing when it stopped, we were given an egg cup, some are chipped because they were used, some are perfect and boring....

What a wonderful morning we had hunting treats,
Now I could pretend it was a perfect day but the truth is putting a chocolate infected wild child to bed for her lunch time sleep was like nothing we had seen before, she was posessed by a wild banshee, it was insane!!!
Im sure it was that rascally elf putting spells on her chocolate eggs as he ran by, just because I stole his bells!!
Hardley fair!!

Hope you enjoyed what left over sticky fingered bunny body was finally offered to you!
We have so many chocolate eggs hidden in the fridge to get thru.
Yay for over indulgence!

Swinging into Easter

My goodness is it April already!
It's Easter Weekend, Good Friday
We started with a drive up the beach to give our dog pipi a run, a beautiful Autumn day filled with sunshine and warm gusty winds

Dog heaven, pipi loves to run and swim......

The beach is so huge in our lives, Kel needs it to surf , I need it for resources and treasures and Indi needs it to play, and we all love to eat the treats from our beautiful sea.....
So huge and powerful and unforgiving and beautiful and mysterious and inspiring, ohh to be a mermaid....

so much space to just be and contemplate life...

gathering bits and pieces of wisdom as we go....

and throwing back the badies who weasel into our lives.....

eeehhhem  sorry!! I drifted off into dream land there for a bit...
anyway Easter weekend , Yes Easter!
Easter is NZ is completely retarted just like Xmas, it is not spring, there are no baby birds or daffidols or baby anything for that matter because it is Autumn, everything is dying and finished growing, so I always find it really hard to celebrate Easter with passion. You northern Hemisphere people dont know how lucky you are to be so in tune with the ingrained calender!!.  But here we are with our baskets of eggs, still going thru the motions, children not really questioning why it dosent seem to fit us at all!!
Xmas is the worst, Santa in a suit like that would die over here from heat exhaustion, people paint snow on they're windows!!!, we have no mistletoe (never seen it!) or holly, no fire lit nights inside with hot food and drinks.  It sounds so lovely and one day I will be getting my all american Xmas in Colorado, with my carols by the piano in my knitted sweater, but for now I will be satisfied with my Xmas bbq, in the hot sun, with burnt bodies, beer and swimming......a Kiwi Xmas, its like we have finally invented our own rules....
So we decided to do something special every day for Easter, and Fridays plan was swings!, yep the good
old tyre swing, you cant beat it, I did some research on the net and printed up a page for inspiration........
we decided to do two...

We need some good plasticy rope, in lovely happy colours, its 10mm thick...

old tyres from the gas station, it would be great if you could find tyres these days that were'nt steel radials but it seems they are extinct, we will make it work...

we tried cutting with a craft knife...yawn!!! but realised we only had 4 days!
so out with the power tools, a jigsaw is great for this, sooo fast.....

once you have cut 1/2 the exterior of the tyre off you have to pop it inside out!!! not as easy as it seemed, a two man job!!....

POP!  Voila swing....

If your lucky like me your partner will be an ex fisherman and he can splice a rope! so attach some ropes to each side....

Meanwhile grandad is making the other swing, Munchy thinks her Granak is great....

Tie swings with plenty of fraying space, make sure your tree is safe too!!!

and fingers crossed they will put your baby to sleep!!!  hehe
Weeeeeeeee!!!

This is the swing grandad made, it has 4 holes which the rope is knotted inside of, looks hard I know!! there is no excuse for not making this one!!

Ewwww love this one too, and its so versatile, stand, sit, luy, two people, 5 people, 10 people!!!
Ok maybe only 4..... 4 little people!

Man I need a friend : (

Dads my friend : )

This place just gets more fun by the day,
time to swing your cares away xxx

After all that fun it was 7pm and time to go home, see ya tomorrow Nana!
And look at what I awoke to this morning, this is why I love Autumn and Spring....the sun rises are amazing, and because we have no curtains it makes the house glow sooo orange, its lovely...

Well happy Easter everyone, I will post again on our Easter weekend because tomorrow is Munchys 2nd Bday Bbq and easter egg hunt, I will have to show off her beautiful Tinkerbell cake..well beautiful in my mind, we will see how it manifests in real life!!
so until then, I want to see you out there stripping cars of their tyres!!!

P.S. My February Gift has arrived with its new owner, take a look

Enjoy the chocolate madness!!
