Welcome to 'One World One Heart' at 'Raven Moon Magic'
I have a story especially for you today, about a 'Magical Carpet'
So come along for the ride and maybee a treat for you at the end.....
It all starts hundreds of years ago when the spider people roamed freely. Tall black bodies crept through the forests weaving traps for animals. They were the master weavers, and wove the most beautiful mats, made from the wool of the animals they ate, and they embedded the mats..... with magic......
Centuries ago a magic mat was made, so powerful its rays of light became a burdened curse so it was wrapped up and hidden to never be seen again...
and so the story goes.....
A beautiful girl spent the day looking through the belongings of her long gone greatgrandparents, she came upon a room filled with chests bearing all kinds of treasures....
As she opened the last chest, it was obvious it belonged to her greatgrandmother....
It held cottons and doilies, fabrics and books, buttons and purses ....and a mat....
She imagined her grandmother mending clothes and making beautiful dresses with the precious fabrics and cottons...
She unrolled the mat, its beauty and delicate work were breath taking, it felt familiar, not by sight but it had the feeling of something she had heard of before...
When she was a child she remembered her grandfather telling stories as he polished his gum, talking of the curse of the mat that fell upon his family when he was a child. A circular mat spun from treasured wools was stolen from the spider people, turning its curse upon the theives and never leaving their presence unless returned to its owners.
It was never returned and the curse ate through the theives lives until they died....
There in the chest lay a diary, the girl read her greatgrandmothers writings and began to understand what went wrong all those years ago....
From her grandparents tortured past she had been born, the girl realised that it was up to her to return the carpet and release the curse upon her family......
The girl set out on a journey to the only forest she knew that held legends of spider people, it was dark and spooky and the trees twisted in pain. The girl searched for what she thought were the perfect trees all the time hearing whispers around her....
She unwound part of the mat and started to make a web in the trees, not knowing what she was doing this for, she followed her feelings and the whispering voices...
Weaving a trap for who???....
The spider people??..could they still be here??...were they watching??..
Old wool vines tangled with new as there were things hanging in the trees that the girl had not placed there...
Beautiful traps for beautiful creatures....
Stone, wool, fabric, beads, plants and feathers....
The girl followed her instructions and presented the rest of the mat to the whispering creatures....
"I have come to return this mat, please dont let me be too late to lift the curse that burdens my family"
The girl lay the mat under a tree ......
Woven in wool and silk, this old mat had been the maker of many miseries....
How can something so beautiful be so bad......
She sat and waited, letting the whispers flow over her.....
Hearing voices and breaking twigs creeping closer, she sat frozen, scared of what was coming.....
"Solve this riddle" breathed a voice over her shoulder, "and you will be rewarded.....thankyou for returning our creation, you have set us free, so for you, we do the same".......
Falling from the trees came a riddle to solve, a new adventure for the girl....
Looking behind her she could see no one.....
So the girl said a quiet sorry and thankyou and left on her new path, she knew exactly where she was going....
Leaving behind this place where the spider people dwell......leaving them in peace...
Her journey didnt take her too far, to the sea it seems, following her clues, she came to the arch....
with plenty of faces.....
thru the arch she came to the sea and there stood a rock, all alone.... she walked ashore.....
To the spiders tree......
Hanging with hundreds of years of moss, it was as creepy as you had imagined.....
She searched the caves for a treasure, woven and made with colour hhhmmm,... more wool???.....
And there it lay, sparkling in the light, awaiting the girl.....
She pulled out what seemed to be a web on a branch.... eewww a treasure indeed.....
She held the web to the sky and felt years of pain spiral away, out through the end of the web, crossing every beautiful bead as it left......she felt light as a feather....
The girl walked, in awe of this beautiful creation and its power, she could not help but touch the beads, feeling the magic flow through her fingers, it was time to go home......
She hung her web in the window, so the sun could dance upon the beads and any time she felt she needed help she traced her fingers around the web, always coming to a conclusion to her problem by the end.
It was a manifesting tool and any goal wished upon it came true.
All she had to do was wish upon every bead in their order and the wish would make its way to her.......and always used for good,
she had seen enough of curses.
As she sat and drank a nice hot tea, she read her greatgrandmothers diary, through the good times, before the magic mat had appeared.
Ohh if only he had listened.........x
Thanyou for reading my tale
