Plums..Ghouls..and Magical Fools

Ive had the loveliest afternoon.
We went to visit friends down the road and see how the house makeover was going, we take a walk around the yard looking at all the old fruit trees. Lets pick some plums!

The afternoon light was beautiful so we snuck through the gate and went for a walk.  Out of the grass appeared a path of broken beauty, smashed memories made into a beckoning road

Where did it lead???  What adventure was it taking us on ??? Who had walked here before us....

Across the rickity fenced bridge, falling to its death from a lack of loving hands

An erie place, it feels like we have travelled to the Bayou.  Munchy dont mind, she plays in the fresh cold water throwing bits and bobs under the stunning afternoon sky..but whats that we see....

Its a house, an old abandoned shack sitting silently all alone on the edge of the erie water...

Who can you see in the window???  The reflections are very spooky indeed, if reflections is what they are!! Eeekkk!

Private Property signs always work so well dont you think???

How many feet have travelled through this door, how many mice are now using it to get back to their cosy nests after fishing in the river for a family feast....

Sssshhhh as we whisper through the magic key hole....
"We think its time to go now house and leave you in peace...bless..

So what was I doing before I got side tracked???  ahhh yes plums, a yummy bowl of plums, far too nice to just eat, these have to be processed with love into something we can savour all year..

Off to the garden to pick some memory sharpening Rosemary, mmmm the smell makes me want to eat potatoes and lamb on a cold night..

Here is the recipe I chose

Chopped plums, a very time consuming but meditative task..

Dreamy colourful ingredients...

Brown sugar jar on a stainless steel bench.  I adore this photo x

I went back in time and got some authentic kiwi suzy scales, I love them xxx

Spices for the muslin bag

All dressed up and ready to party!

Pure clean glass jars....

The loved up plum chutney, now to make some labels...

I made crisp white labels by printing onto sticker sheets then cutting around the words.

Voila, cant wait to eat it with some cheese and meat mmmmm yummy yummy!
