Owoh Winner Day..Ohh Hurray!

What a beautiful day to pick a winner of such an amazing event.  It has been quite a journey for me.  To go from 5 followers to 112 is a blessing beyond words.
I had 505 entries for the spider web and loved every one of your comments, It was beautiful that by taking a bit of time to do my story I touched so many of you, its one of my favorite things in the world...that little thing called 'effort'...  So this is what took place today to pick the new owner of this magical piece.....

We spent the afternoon at the beach walking to the beacon on the corner.  I wanted to use a tradition I have done for so many years since I was little to give everyone of you something special just for loving what I make..but alas I still tried and just writing all 505 names was so overwhelming so I ended up choosing four names from every 100 to total 20 special people.

This corner of the beach has soo many shells, the ritual I do started off as a kiddie love one and grew into appreciation as I got older and wiser, so what we must do first is hunt for a specific sand stone.....

Not easy amongst 100s of rocks that look the same.....

and there it lies in all its glory ......

were going to grind this down and make a paint.....

were also going to need a paintbrush.....

I use a sharp shell to shave off the dark sand into a shell bowl...

add a little sea water and mix it up.....

and you have paint.... i use the paint to write on shells and then I make a wish on the shell and bury it in the sand or throw it out to sea.
When I was little it was boys names, now Im older and have a boy I write things I appreciate.....like my boy! haha

So I wrote the names of the 20 chosen ladies/blogs on the same size shells so a little person had no preference.....

here you all are, swirling beauties.....
can anyone see their names???

I call munchy out from her swim and tell her i have a very special job... she must pick only one shell...

and she went straight to the centre.... so the winner of the web is.....

a very special witchy poo lady indeed!...

Becca from 'Magikal Seasons' !!!  Hurrahhh!!  Rapture!!  Joy!!
I have sent her a message, I cant wait till she reads it eewwww
where is she going to hang her magic web???

but alas there is more...for the other 19 shells dreams still come true, each of your names were read out one by one and we called out a seperate wish for each...

before being whizzed out into the ocean so the tide can carry your name on her breath forever.....

some of you went far, some stayed close....

but you all will be very deep once the tide rises and the current surges and drags you to the depths of our cold blue ocean, your name forever part of the sea....

So what if you dont have a web or a shell??? do you feel you need one??
Fish! Tosh!  all we need are our minds...
Is it time to be making changes anyway, removing our old worn out shells, rising again, reinventing ourselves, what are your new morals, new rules.....

What do you hide??  is there a jewel inside of you that wishes to shine bright but you cant set it free

Hold your magic for all to see, if something is spoken, written, made, it is real...make it real, set it free...

keep your spikes shorts so they hurt no one else but yourself for even having them.... tut tut!

attach yourself to things that will make you go forward and upwards, if it can help you grow it will make your heart soar...

have a soft heart that is touched by all things good and beautiful, to feel humanity at its best...

if your life is spiraling out of control always get at least 3 different perspectives before making decisions, we dont always see things the way they are, we see things the way we are....

and never wait for a ring to be on your finger, there is so much love to be had without timelines and expectations....

always look for the shining side, they are out there somewhere...

and soulsearch early enough in life to realise you may be a square peg living in everone elses round hole, life is long but ohh so short, and too short for unhappiness....

So from my family to yours, thanks for making owoh a memorable experience, and we are living proof that changes come large and swift so remember that
everything is unfolding just as its meant to be...

sheesh this giving is hard work for some ...x...

The words Im living by this year are...
I become my best queen when I truly love myself and accept myself just the way I am...

Its never too late to change the rules in the game xxx
Thanks guys...spread the love
and congratulations Becca, I hope all your dreams come true

  4. What a lovely post, and all those sea photos! I long since came to the conclusion that I'm a shell peg living in a country hole! Luckily the sea isn't too far away but I'd much prefer to be within sight and sound of it!
I hope Becca loves your art!

  8. Your posts and your work make me feel so...not envious, maybe wistful? Like I'm looking at something I'd love to touch, and can't, but I'm happier for having looked at it and maybe it's better that it stays ephemeral.
The Japanese have a word for it, I'd bet. But I don't. I'm just glad to have found your blog- thank you!

  11. Leave it to you, Sheree, to bring magic into everything... :) Dearheart, is that my name on the shell near the center? Or did you choose a Brigit who also participated in your giveaway? The idea to write the names on the shells and to throw them into the sea is just wonderful. I know that your good wishes will come true -- I can feel it! :) Thanks for your creativity and for making us all feel so special.

    Big hugs,
    Birgit

  14. Thank you for sharing all of those beautiful photos and words! I have only been looking at blogs for a couple of months and do not remember how I came across yours. I find your blog interesting, and also like hearing about the Far North, as my in-laws used to live there, Taupo Bay, just south(?) of Mangonui. Love the magical bit too. :)
